We started tracking last Monday and the question was asked "can we really see any changes after just one week?"
The answer was LET'S FIND OUT!
We are one week in plus one day. And we have our answer!
YES!
Out of those of us who participated in measuring last Monday... EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US SAW CHANGES today!
It was pretty fucking cool to see.
Interestingly, for myself anyways, the scale did not move at all. Without having that measurement data from last week, I would most likely feel super frustrated right now even though I put in all the work in the right direction for positive change. This is such a huge win! I am super motivated to keep on going and I absolutely know what I am doing IS WORKING. Not only for me, but for all of the kettlebell crew!
Proof that something is working is in the data we collect. And just because I am a fitness professional does not mean I do not struggle with all of this! Trust me, I struggle just like everyone else. I am human. I am perimenopausal. I have had 6 babies. I have all the same things going on as you. Gaining weight after my last knee injury has been the hardest to come back from... and this intentional move into tracking is very empowering for me personally.
Had I just stepped on the scale this morning and saw that same number repeat itself from last week, I know I would have had at least a few days of woe-is-me and wondered what I was doing wrong. THIS is why we track and why it's so valuable to each one of our journeys.

Other Reasons to Track Measurements on Your Fitness Journey
Tracking your measurements is such a powerful commitment to achieving your fitness goals, moving you toward a healthier, more vibrant self. By monitoring aspects like weight, body measurements, or even how many times you can lift your dog, you focus your mind on your objectives with precision. This practice gives you control over your fitness journey, heightening your awareness of your actions and their impact on your progress. It fosters consistency and regularly recording your progress serves as a constant reminder of your starting point and the distance you've covered. It's tangible proof of your hard work, providing motivation during those "I just want to eat a whole pizza" moments.
Tracking also uncovers the little nuances of your habits (good and bad) and your performance, allowing you to refine your routine without second guessing yourself. Sharing your progress with your baddie crew—be it friends, family, or your online fitness community—elevates your accountability. Knowing that others are cheering you on fuels your focus and commitment. This social accountability creates a supportive environment of encouragement and shared successes, strengthening your dedication to your fitness aspirations.
Ultimately, tracking your measurements is such a dynamic and empowering tool that not only guides you to success but also turns your fitness journey into a well-structured, and fucking powerful adventure!
Onward and upward, my good bitches!!
